Jharkhand Assembly: Chief Minister Sambhai Soran’s Government Wins Confidence Vote

Ranchi: Chief Minister Sambhai Soran’s government won the confidence vote in the Jharkhand Assembly.

The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha and Congress coalition ruled the state of Jharkhand. Hemant Soran, who was the Chief Minister, was arrested on the 31st in the case of illegal money transfer and land fraud. Following this, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha senior leader Sambhai Soran was sworn in as the new Chief Minister of the state on 2nd. Governor CP Radhakrishnan has asked him to prove majority in the Legislative Assembly within 10 days.

According to this, the vote of confidence was held in the Legislative Assembly yesterday. The support of 41 MLAs is required to prove majority out of total 80 MLAs. In this context, 47 MLAs voted in favor of the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha coalition government in the trust vote. With this, Chief Minister Sambhai Soran proved his majority. 29 MLAs of the BJP alliance voted against.

Hemant Soran, who is in the custody of the Enforcement Directorate, took part in the confidence vote with the permission of the court. While speaking in the Legislative Assembly, Chief Minister Sambai Soran said, “The public is well aware of the injustice done to Hemant Soran”.

Speaking outside the assembly, senior BJP leader Babulal Marandi said, “Hemant Soran’s family is grabbing land in benami name. We will expose this truth to the people,” he said.

Meanwhile, a case has been filed in the Jharkhand High Court on behalf of Hemant Soran against the enforcement department’s arrest. The case came to the hearing yesterday. At that time, the High Court ordered the Enforcement Department to file a reply by the 9th. The next hearing of the case was adjourned to 12th.
