The protest is organized. 201 personalities from different sectors called in a column published this Sunday in Humanity et Mediapart to demonstrate on January 21 against the Immigration law.

The government’s text, largely toughened by right-wing parliamentarians, was painfully adopted on December 19 in the National Assembly.

This column signed by various political figures (like the boss of the PS Olivier Faure), union figures (like the president of the CGT Sophie Binet), but also many artists from the world of entertainment, cinema or books, asks the head of the State not to promulgate this law, worrying about a “dangerous turning point in the history of our Republic”.

Bruno Solo, Cédric Villani and Jok’Air

“This law does not respond to the causes of the forced exile of men, women, children fleeing wars or global warming, nor to the challenges of reception with dignity, nor to the challenge of defining a dignified and humane policy of integration”, believe the signatories, among whom we find in particular the actors Pierre Arditi, Bruno Solo, Josiane Balasko, Marina Foïs and Julie Gayet.

They consider that the text was “written under the dictation of hate mongers who dream of imposing their project of national preference on France”.

Also listed among the signatories are the rapper Jok’Air, the mathematician Cédric Villani, the writer Erik Orsenna and the comedian Guillaume Meurice.
