Mani (55) is a resident of Tirupur College Road, Konkanagiri area. He is a bundle lifter and a member of the People’s Justice Center. In this situation, he contested in the Tirupur municipal elections held last week on behalf of the People’s Justice Center in 36 wards. Thus he has borrowed up to Rs 50,000 from the residents of the neighborhood for election expenses.

In this case, the People’s Justice Center candidate received only 44 votes in the last 22 ballots and embraced defeat; Following this, he did not know how to repay the loan he had taken from the neighbors for election expenses.

This led to a dispute between the husband and wife yesterday. Mani, who was suffering from severe depression, committed suicide by hanging himself last night. Upon learning of this, the Tirupur North police seized Mani’s body and sent it to the Tirupur Government Hospital for autopsy.
