At the opening it was noted that Muhammad Fizuli is one of the greatest Azerbaijani poets, whose work significantly influenced the development of national and eastern literature. Fizuli devoted his entire life to poetry, his poetic images are original and have an exceptional power of emotional impact. He was also one of the major scientists of his time, studying philosophy, exact sciences and theology. The news of Fuzuli’s scientific activities even reached England itself, where he was called the “Rising Sun of the East.” Fizuli’s work will also mark the opening of a whole galaxy of Turkic literary schools. In the Turkic world he became known as the “Sultan of Poets”.
Fizuli’s ghazals, deep and refined in philosophical content and strictly consistent in poetic rhythm, form the basis of the repertoire of the people’s favorite khanende – singers of classical Azerbaijani mugams – for many centuries. Fizuli’s works had a great influence on the development of national music; famous composers wrote music for the poet’s works.
The concert program featured the chamber choir of the Aktobe Regional Philharmonic named after Gaziza Zhubanova (artistic director Merbol Kuspanov) and the Azerbaijan State Choir Chapel (artistic director and chief conductor – People’s Artist Gulbaji Imanova). The program featured works by Azerbaijani and Kazakh composers and folk songs.
