In July 2023, we conducted a collaboration project “#Unlikely Meiji Miscellaneous Goods” on our official X account (formerly Twitter) with Michiru, a creator who creates fictional miscellaneous goods, and posted the following.“Kinoko no Yama Wireless Earphones”The response was overwhelming, with comments such as “I want it!” and “Interesting!” In response to this response, our company aimed to create bilingual “Kinoko no Yama wireless earphones” that would allow a variety of people to communicate through “Kinoko no Yama”, and after about 7 months of development, we released them.
Commitment to design
The “Mushroom Mountain” is a unique shape that has acquired a “3D trademark” (a system for registering the appearance of a product as a trademark), so we have faithfully reproduced the real “Mushroom Mountain.” In particular, we wanted to create a form that looks like a mountain of mushrooms even when worn, because we wanted to create something so interesting and fun that people could mistake it for thinking, “I have a mountain of mushrooms stuck in my ear!?” We paid particular attention to every detail of the design.
We focused on cuteness in the case design, and adopted a stand-up type. In addition, the design was designed so that when you open the lid, you can clearly see the shape of the mushroom mountain.
