New Delhi: The third wave of Kovid is intensifying in the country. 1,59,632 people were confirmed to be infected with Kovid within 24 hours. 327 Kovid deaths were also reported in a single day. The current test positivity rate in the country is 10.21%.
There are currently 5,90,611 active patients. 40,863 people were cured within 24 hours. So far, 3,623 Omicon cases have been reported in the country. Of these, 1409 have already recovered.
Meanwhile, Kovid affected four Supreme Court judges and more than 400 parliamentary employees. Two of the judges were diagnosed with the disease on Thursday. Two more judges were positive on Sunday.
Kovid has inspected all the employees of the Supreme Court. About 150 people are either Kovid positive or living in quarantine. The Chief Justice had adjourned the hearing in the Supreme Court for the next six weeks following a spate of Kovid cases.
On January 6 and 7, Kovid conducted an inspection of staff and security personnel working in Parliament. Of these, more than 400 tested positive.
