Jaffna Kings opener Avishka Fernando scores a century against the Dambulla Giants in the Lanka Premier League.

The Lanka Premier League T20 cricket series is underway. The Jaffna Kings – Dambulla Giants clashed in the 2nd semi-final yesterday.

Batting first, Jaffna Kings scored 210 runs for the loss of 4 wickets. Starter Avishka Fernando was responsible for Audi’s dismissal. Batting keeper Gurbas took 70 runs and was out.

Following this, the Dambulla Giants entered the field with a target of 211 runs to win. Samika Karunaratne was the only batsman in the team to score 75 runs. Others snatched the bat at regular intervals.

In the end, the Dambulla team scored only 187 runs for the loss of 9 wickets. The Jaffna Kings won by 23 runs and advanced to the final.

Jaden Celes took 3 wickets for Jaffna while Thisara Perera and Deekshana took 2 wickets each. The Man of the Match award was presented to Avishka Fernando.

The Galle Gladiators – Jaffna Kings teams will face off in the final tomorrow (December 23).
