A collision on Highway 15 claimed the life of a 20-year-old man Sunday morning in Laval.
The fatal collision occurred shortly before 5 a.m. on Highway 15 southbound at Boulevard Saint-Martin.
“A driver decided to stop her car. A passenger then gets out of the vehicle for a reason still unknown, ”explains Stéphanie Beshara, spokesperson for the Laval Police Department. At the same time, another motorist traveling in the same direction collides with the pedestrian.
The 20-year-old passenger died on the spot. The driver of the parked car was not injured, but was hospitalized with nervous shock.
According to initial information, neither alcohol nor speed would be involved in this fatal accident. “The driver of the moving vehicle does not seem to have seen the immobilized vehicle and its passenger,” said Mme Beshara.
Investigators will visit the site to analyze the scene of the accident.
