The director of the company’s international relations office, Al-Moez bin Ismail, said on Sunday afternoon that the plane seen at Tripoli International Airport was one of the company’s planes that were damaged as a result of the 2014 events.
Bin Ismail also said that the plane is out of service and unfit for flight due to the damage it sustained.
The director of the company’s international relations office said the winds caused the plane’s fuselage to move from its position, noting that it was awaiting the “scraping stage” after using up its spare parts.
The company asked all media outlets not to publish news from unreliable sources, stressing the need to verify the accuracy of the news before disseminating it.
The company also confirmed that all its official news is released only through its official account, which is verified by a blue tick on the Facebook platform.
Last week, African Airlines announced that a bird collided with the engine of the plane flying from Mitiga International Airport to Cairo, which caused the plane to return to its landing, in order to ensure the safety of all passengers.
