The eighth round of the French league continued tonight (Saturday) with two intriguing games. Lille hosted Toulouse and Montpellier hosted Strasbourg, with both home teams winning with the same result, 1:2.
Lille – Toulouse 1:2
After losing in the last round to Marseille, Paolo Fonseca’s team hosted Toulouse and registered an important victory. After only five minutes of football, Jonathan David put the hosts ahead. In the 48th minute, Fars Chaibi temporarily equalized, but Adam Onas’ goal five minutes later decided the match.
Montpellier – Strasbourg 1:2
After two consecutive losses to Lille and Angers, Montpellier wanted to return to the winning track tonight and did so successfully. Arnaud Nordin put them in the lead in the 17th minute, Habib Diallo equalized in the 85th minute and in added time Teji Sabnier gave the team from the south of France an important victory with a penalty goal.
