London: The shock defeat of the giants Liverpool in the English Premier League. Leicester City beat Liverpool. In another match, Southampton drew with Tottenham.
Liverpool lost to Leicester by an unbeaten margin at Kingpower Stadium, their home ground. Ademola Lukman scored the winning goal for Leicester in the 59th minute. The winner of the team was Caspar Schmeichel, the Leicester goalkeeper and captain who blocked more than four shots on goal for Liverpool.
Liverpool were awarded a penalty in the match but failed to score. Superstar Mohammad Salah’s penalty kick was deflected by Schmeichel. With this defeat, Liverpool remain in second place with 41 points from 19 matches. Leicester are ninth with 25 points from 18 games.
Tottenham and Southampton drew 1-1. Superstar Harry Kane and Southampton captain James Ward Prouse scored from the penalty spot for Tottenham. Southampton drew level with Tottenham in the 39th minute despite being reduced to 10 men. Despite seeing the goal twice, the referee did not score in favor of Tottenham. With this draw, Tottenham finished sixth with 30 points from 17 matches. Southampton are 13th.
In other matches Crystal Palace beat Norwich City by three goals to none, while West Ham beat Watford by four goals to one.
