LONDON: Former English Premier League champions Liverpool have beaten Leeds United.

Jurgen Klopp’s disciples won by an unassailable six goals at home to Anfield. With the win, the distance between Liverpool and defending champions Manchester City narrowed. Manchester City are top with 63 points from 26 games and Liverpool are second with 60 points. Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane scored twice to give Liverpool the lead. Joel Matip and Virgil van Dyke each scored a goal.

Salah opened the scoring in the 15th minute when Dallas’s handball found the back of the net. Joel doubled the lead in the 30th minute with the help of Matiplasala, who advanced from the defense.
