Before the shows even started this Sunday (24th), the last day of Lollapalooza, fans of singer SZA were already lined up on the grid to guarantee a good place at the show
With several t-shirts and tattoos in honor of the artist, they look forward to attending the North American’s first show in Brazil.
HAS CNNfans of this year’s three-time Grammy winner said they were captivated by SZA’s songwriting abilities.
Mariana Fabiana, 23 years old, explained that she identifies a lot with the singer’s songs because they portray the point of view of a black woman at different stages of her life.
“She knows how to describe well what it is to be a black woman, all the experiences that we can have when we are in a relationship with another person, when we are growing up”, she stated and later cited “20 Something” as her favorite song.
The song talks precisely about the uncertainties experienced by those going through their early 20s. “20 Something” is part of SZA’s first album, “CTRL”, tattooed by Mariana on her body.
The lyrics of “Kill Bill” and “Snooze” also won over psychologist Nadélio Júnior, 30 years old.
“She has the ability to convey the phases of the relationship through writing. I think she is very talented and her voice is impeccable too,” she said.
He chose to tattoo the song “Snooze” on his arm. The song, which has a version featuring Justin Bieber, is one of the singles from “SOS”, the singer’s second album. The song won the Grammy for Best R&B Song and the album won the gramophone for Best Progressive R&B Album.
SZA would make her debut in Brazil at Lollapalooza in 2020, but the edition was canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. She takes the Budweiser stage at 9:30 pm this Sunday.
Lollapalooza 2024
The eleventh edition of Lollapalooza Brasil started on Friday (22). The music festival runs until Sunday (24) and takes place, once again, at the Autódromo de Interlagos, in the south of São Paulo.
The main attractions on the first day were Blink-182, who played for the first time in Brazil, Arcade Fire and The Offspring. In addition to them, names such as Diplo, Fletcher, Marcelo D2, Maneva, Luísa Sonza and Dexter, the Eighth Angel, took to the stage.
On Saturday (23) and Sunday (24), Lollapalooza has Limp Bizkit, Kings Of Leon, Titãs, SZA and Sam Smith as the main attractions. Check out the complete line up for each day and the likely setlists of the festival’s main artists.
