The Philharmonie de Paris has just hosted a series of workshops in November and December entitled “Vibrational Experiences”. The idea: to invite five deaf people to learn about instruments, and to compose several pieces together, with drums, cellos, a drum… The conference “Beyond sound: deafness and musical experiences” brought together deaf musicians, researchers in neuroscience and psychoacoustics, musicologists, at the end of December, still within the framework of the Philharmonie…

Do we necessarily have to hear the sound to be lulled by the music and have access to the emotions it provides? What do the deaf and hard of hearing teach us about our relationship with sound? What are the trajectories of deaf people in France?
