The head coach of “Genoa” Luigi del Neri was removed from his position by the decision of the club management. This is reported by the team’s official website. The decision on the removal was made a few hours after the 0:2 defeat against “Catania” in the 21st round of the Italian championship at home.
“The club thanks Del Neri, as well as his assistants Conti, D’Angelo and Alimontu, for their work with the team,” the press service of “Genoa” reports.
Del Neri replaced Luigi Di Canio as the head coach of that team in October last year, but could not improve the results of “Geona”, celebrating only 2 wins, suffering 9 defeats and ending 2 matches with a draw. After the 21st round, “Genoa” ranks 18th in the “A” series table with 17 points.
It is expected that “Genoa” will be headed by Davide Ballardini, who in 2010 from November to 2011 may already worked in that team.
