Xi was given a warm welcome, red carpets, and military ceremonies.
After their meeting at the G20 summit in Rio de Janeiro, Lula, together with his wife Rosangela da Silva, gave a warm welcome to his Chinese counterpart before their meeting in Alvorada, his presidential residence in the Brazilian capital.
The visit comes in a charged international context, as shown during the G20 summit, which was dominated by the climate crisis and the two wars in Ukraine and Gaza.
China’s president called for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and for “more voices” to be brought together to work on a “political solution” that would end the war in Ukraine, according to China’s Xinhua news agency.
Lula highlighted a peace proposal in Ukraine that Brasilia and Beijing have been pushing for in recent months, considering it “an example of the convergence of views on international security”.
Russian President Vladimir Putin described the proposal as “fair”, but Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky rejected it, and neither the United States nor the European Union supported it.

What are the most popular theories about time travel?
Title: A Journey Through Time: An Interview with Dr. Amelia Rivers, Time Travel Theorist
Setting: A cozy, well-lit office adorned with vintage clocks and time-themed artwork. The editor of Time.news, Sam Carter, sits across from Dr. Rivers, a prominent time travel theorist with a keen interest in both science and philosophy.
Sam: Welcome, Dr. Rivers! It’s an absolute pleasure to have you with us today. As an expert in the field of time travel theories, your insights are incredibly valuable to our readers.
Dr. Rivers: Thank you, Sam! I’m thrilled to be here. Time is such a fascinating subject, and I love discussing it with curious minds.
Sam: To kick things off, could you give us a brief overview of your journey into the world of time travel? What sparked your interest?
Dr. Rivers: Certainly! My fascination with time travel began in childhood. I remember reading H.G. Wells’ “The Time Machine”—the concepts of traversing time captured my imagination. As I grew up, I pursued physics and philosophy, trying to bridge the gap between scientific theory and the metaphysical implications of time travel.
Sam: H.G. Wells is a classic! Speaking of science, let’s dive into the theories. Many people are familiar with Einstein’s theory of relativity. Can you explain how this relates to the possibility of time travel?
Dr. Rivers: Absolutely! Einstein’s theory introduces the idea that time is not a constant; it can be affected by speed and gravity. The closer you travel to the speed of light, the slower time passes for you relative to someone stationary. This leads to the concept of time dilation, which implies a form of time travel into the future—but alas, the past remains tricky.
Sam: That’s mind-bending! So, in a way, astronauts on high-speed missions experience time differently than we do here on Earth?
Dr. Rivers: Exactly! They age slightly slower due to time dilation. However, as enticing as forward time travel sounds, we’ve yet to find a way to journey back in time. The paradoxes that arise from backward time travel pose significant challenges, like the famous grandfather paradox.
Sam: The grandfather paradox indeed stirs the imagination! It raises so many philosophical questions about causality and free will. Do you think time travel to the past could ever be feasible?
Dr. Rivers: It’s a complex debate. While some theories, such as wormholes or closed timelike curves, suggest possibilities, they require conditions we currently can’t achieve—or even fully understand. Plus, introducing changes to the past could create unforeseen consequences.
Sam: Changing the past sounds like a recipe for chaos! Now, let’s switch gears a bit. In your opinion, how has time travel been portrayed in popular culture? Do you find it to align with scientific theories, or is it mostly speculative fiction?
Dr. Rivers: Popular culture often takes creative liberties. Shows like “Doctor Who” and “Back to the Future” wonderfully explore the idea while prioritizing storytelling. Yet, they often overlook the complicated scientific principles at play. I think they serve as a great springboard for public interest in the physics of time, though!
Sam: Absolutely, and who doesn’t love a good time-travel adventure? Before we conclude, Dr. Rivers, if you had a chance to time travel, where— or when—would you go, and why?
Dr. Rivers: What an enticing question! I’d love to visit the Renaissance. The rapid advancements in art, science, and philosophy during that period are captivating. Experiencing the minds of figures like Leonardo da Vinci and Galileo firsthand would be incredible!
Sam: A fantastic choice! It’s clear that your passion for time travel is as vibrant as ever. Thank you for sharing your fascinating insights with us today, Dr. Rivers.
Dr. Rivers: Thank you, Sam! It’s been a pleasure discussing the intricacies of time with you and your audience.
Sam: And to our readers, stay curious, for who knows what mysteries time has yet to unravel! Keep exploring, and until next time, this is Time.news.
