Bollywood director Imtiaz Ali took the initiative to make a biopic of Madhubala. Madhubala’s sister Madhur Brij Bhushan gave NOC (No Objection Certificate) to the maker. So there was no legal hurdle to make a biopic on him. But Madhubala’s other sister Kanij Bulsara did not give NOC and complications arose. However, the official announcement of making Madhubala’s biopic has come after all the complications.
Director Jasmeet K Rin announced the production of the Madhubala biopic in a post on his Instagram on Friday (March 15). Because he will produce the movie. In this post, the director wrote, ‘I am excited to start this new journey with some wonderful people. Gratitude.’
Jasmeet K Rin said in the announcement that Madhubala’s biopic will be produced by Sony Pictures Internal Productions, Brewing Thoughts Pvt Ltd and Madhubala’s sister Madhur Brij Bhushan is co-producer under the banner of ‘Madhubala Ventures Pvt Ltd’. The same announcement was also made from the Instagram account of Sony Pictures International Productions.
There has been a lot of discussion about who will play the title role in Madhubala’s biopic. Tabar Tabar actress name of Bollywood has appeared in this list. This list includes Kareena Kapoor Khan, Priyanka Choprawal, Yami Gautam, Ananya Pandey, Kriti Sanon.
Although the name of the director-producer has been announced, the officials have not told who will play the title role. However, Times of India claims that Kriti Sanon will portray the character of Madhubala. But there is no official announcement about this.
Madhubala entered the acting career at a very young age. In 1942, he started working as a child artist in the film Vasant. In 1947 Neelkamal appeared on the screen as a heroine. The movie also featured Begum Para and Raj Kapoor. His subsequent story is not unknown to anyone. He died at the age of 36.
Madhubala’s notable films are Amar (1954), Mahal (1949), Badal (1951), Tarana (1951), Mr. and Mrs. ’55 (1955), Chachi Ka Naam Garai (1958), Half Ticket (1962), Howrah Bridge, Kala Pani (1958), Barsaat Ki Raat (1960) etc.
