On September 29, 2023, Michaela Zdravkov lost her son. 21-year-old Angel Zdravkov was fatally stabbed twice in the thigh by 18-year-old Nikola Raichev. The tragedy happened around 6:40 p.m. in front of a residential block on “Panayot Volov” Street in Pazardzhik.

Despite her huge loss, Michaela believes that everyone should open their heart for good. And for Christmas he made 400 bears to give away the money from their sale to orphans. This was the reason why today this strong woman is part of the “Worthy Bulgarians” at the ceremony of the “24 Chasa” newspaper in the National Palace of Culture. Her story did not leave people in the hall indifferent, and there were not a few who shed a tear.

Thanks to this cause, I was able not to sink into the grief that is the most cruel thing for a parent – to outlive my child. Thanks to the friends who stood behind me – Marijana, Nicole, Gabriela, Desi and my daughter Denislava, we helped seven children to improve their lives. Thank you to everyone who got involved and supported us during this difficult time. We need to change and not let such wonderful young people leave us. Leaders, listen to us, open your hearts and change things. You are there because of us. You must hear us. Change something, change the laws. Such tragedies should not happen. Every human life is precious. It is a terrible thing for a parent to outlive their childZdravkova said through tears.

She received her award from Mr. Yovchev, Chief Operating Officer of BTV Media Group.

I want to thank the “Dignified Bulgarians” who are the reason we are here. The only way to overcome the loss of spirituality in a society is through good examples. These bears with a cause are bits of goodness, hope and faith. Thank you for spreading faith, hope and goodness. Salute to you and all worthy Bulgarians, said Yovchev.
