John Lennon and Yoko Ono married on March 20, 1969, in Gibraltar. They know they will be hounded relentlessly by the gossip press. So they decide to stand together and take the opportunity to talk about peace in the world while the Vietnam War is raging. We are then in the middle of the Peace and Love period. They design it as a sit-in, but in a bed. So they summon the press to a “bed-in for peace”.
