Massive car accident in Russia; 16 killed in truck-mini-bus collision

16 people were killed in an accident between a truck and a mini-bus in Russia. The incident took place in the Russian region of Ulyanovsk. The Ministry of Home Affairs said that three people were injured in the accident.

The out-of-control truck plowed into a minibus parked near the Ulyanovsk region. The Ministry also informed through a statement that there was a traffic jam at the site of the accident due to the ongoing road works.

The police released the video of the mini bus that was completely crushed between two trucks. The dead bodies were taken out by cutting the bus. The TASS news agency reported that the truck driver was among those killed. Russian agencies have launched an investigation into the incident. Violation of road safety rules is common in Russia.

In January, five people were killed and 21 injured in a bus accident in the Ryazan region, 270 km south of Moscow. In December 2019, 19 people were killed and 21 injured when a bus carrying 40 passengers plunged into a river in the Zabaikalsk region of Siberia.
