Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan received the newly appointed Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Armenia Mehdi Sobhani.
At the beginning of the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan congratulated the ambassador on his appointment, emphasizing the importance of the appointment of a diplomat with such experience for the further development of relations between the two countries.
The interlocutors discussed the key issues of the Armenian-Iranian relations agenda, referred to the prospects of cooperation in the trade, economic and energy sectors. on August 10, the signing of the document on the extension and volume increase of the “Gas for Electricity” contract, which in turn will contribute to the expansion of cooperation between the two countries.
Reference was also made to the activities of the Armenian-Iranian intergovernmental commission co-chaired by the deputy prime minister and the issues of bilateral interest discussed within its framework.
