Microsoft has announced new models of its Surface devices, Surface Pro 10 and Surface Laptop 6. This is Microsoft’s first launch of what has already been called an AI PC: they come with dedicated chips for artificial intelligence tasks as well as of course support for a variety of The artificial intelligence capabilities that exist in the Windows 11 operating system – and with the promise of further innovations in the field in the future.
Surface Pro 10 looks almost identical to its predecessor, but comes with Intel’s new Core Ultra processors, with a choice between Core Ultra 5 135U and Core Ultra 7 165U. The amount of RAM is 8 to 64 gigabytes, with an SSD drive of 256 gigabytes to 1 terabyte. The display is 13 inches in size, with an anti-reflection coating. The company is expected to announce at a later date another version with OLED screen.
Microsoft also boasts a high-quality webcam In particular, a built-in NFC reader designed primarily for use with enterprise security devices, and for the first time also support for a 5th generation cellular connection. The battery time is about 19 hours of use. The weight is 879 grams.
Surface Laptop 6 comes with the same selection of Core Ultra processors, a 13.5 or 15 inch screen, three USB connections – two USB-C and one USB-A, and also a slot for reading smart cards. Here, too, there is a 1080p resolution webcam. It is offered with up to 54 GB of RAM and up to 1 TB of storage. The basic weight, in accordance with the size of the screen, is 1.38/1.68 kg.
The starting price for both models is 1,199 dollars, but at this stage they will sell directly to businesses. At a later stage, expected Microsoft also announce versions intended for the general public. Delivery will start on April 9th.
