| Minister R. Governor against Bindu; No change in position

Kochi: Kannur University Vice Chancellor Dr. On the issue of re-appointment of Gopinath Raveendran, the Minister of Higher Education, Dr. R. Governor Arif Muhammad Khan against Bindu.

Minister Bindu has no authority to write letters to the Governor. The governor said that only the search committee has the power to select the VC.

There is politics in the reappointment of the VC. He told reporters at the Ernakulam guest house that it was not his job to reply to the minister. The Chancellor is adamant that he will step down. He said he was not aware of the High Court sending the notice.
