O Campo Grande News received complaints from residents of the region who began to notice intense movement of men in the place, especially when the sun starts to set.
In the park, which has native forest in the middle of the Córrego do Prosa, including a waterfall, it is possible to find, throughout its length, but especially after the wooden bridge, several open packages of condoms and used condoms.

In addition, while the report checked the situation at the scene, it was possible to notice several men entering alone or in pairs in the middle of the forest and who do not talk to each other, just exchange glances and cross a wooden bridge.
However, the space is also used by residents and traders in the region, who take advantage of the environment to walk or walk their pets.
This is the case of 39-year-old businesswoman Aline Rosa, who has a business nearby and visits the park every day. When questioned, she said she was aware that the place became a meeting point for people to have sex.
“There is a little bridge and everyone goes there. If you probe, you’ll find a bunch of condoms all over the floor. I, in this case, do not go over there [depois da ponte] to avoid embarrassment,” he said.
Aline also highlighted that the situation is somewhat “annoying”, as it happens during the day and that the space is public and can be used by everyone.
“Suddenly, a father or mother who doesn’t know that something is going on can take the children to the other side and end up catching a very embarrassing situation”, he said.

The businesswoman also stated that she always sees only men going out into the woods and that she has never seen a woman there. “Lots of guys, it’s very specific.”
A couple of friends, both 47 years old, who prefer not to identify themselves, also notice the men coming in and out of the place. They use the park to access Avenida Afonso Pena, coming from Avenida Ricardo Brandão. “I just saw two over there in the water, alone, near the waterfall,” they said.
All respondents, when asked what they think of the situation, were categorical in saying that it is “embarrassing” and that there should be security in place to avoid this type of situation.
Another point observed by park goers is the neglect with the structure and cleanliness of the environment, which has destroyed fences and a lot of garbage scattered on the grass.

Project in progress – The City Hall of Campo Grande responded to the report’s question and highlighted that Semadur (Municipal Secretariat for the Environment and Urban Development) has the Degraded and Altered Area Recovery Project (Prada), carried out by Sisep (Municipal Secretariat for Infrastructure and Public Services ) in the region, in addition to partnerships with the private sector to help recover the area by planting trees on site.
“The Special Secretariat for Social Security and Defense (Sesdes) reinforced that the rounds will be intensified mainly at night, curbing the use of narcotics or attempted criminal activity”, concluded the note.
