Insecurity is resurfacing in the urban commune of Kankan. On the morning of Tuesday March 26 in the Morioulen district, a money transfer shop (Orange Money and Mobile Money) was the target of a new armed attack.

According to the victim’s explanations, the attackers, numbering four (4), came on two motorcycles armed with a PMAK type war rifle. At the time of the incident, only the manager of the premises was inside the store.

“Around 11 a.m., I received a call from my wife who was crying, telling me that bandits came to attack my shop. Automatically I came and found a big crowd here. I also found the store manager crying. I asked her what happened, she told me that four people came on the motorcycle with their PMAK weapon, three entered the store and the other stayed outside. They threatened him, telling him to take the money out. She got scared and fled to go out through the little door behind the cash register, that’s how the guys went behind the cash register and took away all the money that was there. People came to find them here but they fired bullets in the air to escape,” explained Djigui Camara.

This is the fourth attack suffered by Djigui Camara in the space of a year. This time according to him, the thugs stole more than 20 million of our francs

“I cannot currently estimate the losses but I can still say that my working capital has been taken away. When I was leaving in the morning, I left 25 to 27 million here. I don’t know now the manager had made how many deposit and withdrawal transactions. The whole amount is gone, I checked the cash registers and there is nothing left,” lamented Djigui Camara.

Last week, a similar attack took place in the Bordo district, on the outskirts of the urban commune, which has rekindled the debate on the real efforts made by the authorities to secure people and their property. Djigui Camara is sounding the alarm.

“The appeal that I can make to the authorities is to strengthen security, because this is the fourth time that I have been the victim of such a case. The last time, it was my home that the thugs left, they took my computer, my two phones and more than 37 million GNF. It hasn’t even been three months first. If someone steals such an amount from me again, it is truly unacceptable. So the authority should strengthen security otherwise the country is in danger,” said Djigui Camara.
