Moroccan security forces have seized 40 kilos of drugs hidden inside a vehicle at the border with the autonomous city of Ceuta and have arrested its driver, a Spanish national, according to sources from the customs services.
The operation took place early this Monday and, according to sources cited by the official news agency, the drug, identified as chira, cannabis resin, was hidden in different parts of the vehicle. The detainee wanted to leave Moroccan territory.
For their part, the authorities have reported a second operation carried out on Sunday night in the same area and in which a vehicle with French registration with more than 87,000 euros on board was intercepted. The money is hidden under sheets and in the clothes of the driver himself, also a French national.
