The Moscow Department of Transport sent official letters to all major taxi aggregators and taxi companies with a request to inform passengers in advance about a possible increase in the cost of a trip during the New Year holidays, and also not to overcharge prices during this period. This is stated in the department’s Telegram channel.

The mayor’s office stressed that during the New Year holidays, taxis should remain comfortable, affordable and convenient. “We understand that the laws do not regulate tariffs, and yet we turn to aggregators: we ask you to set adequate prices and not raise the cost of trips on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s holidays,” the message says.

In an official letter sent to the company, they also reminded of the need to place information on tariffs on the front panel in the taxi cabin so that passengers can always check the price in the application. The department explained that on the eve of the holidays and on holidays, aggregators often inflate prices, and passengers will find out about this already on the trip.

Earlier, the Department of Transport of the capital announced that all street parking in Moscow, including in the city center, will be free from December 31 to January 8. After the end of the holidays, January 9, parking will be free everywhere, except for streets with an increased tariff of 380 rubles per hour during the day and 200 rubles per hour at night.
