A 16-year-old teenager died after the motorcycle he was riding collided with the guardrail of a gas station pump. The case happened around 11:30 pm on Friday (26), on Avenida Duque de Caxias and Rua Itatiaia, in Jardim Vera Cruz, Bairro Santo Antônio region, in Campo Grande.
According to witness reports, the victim was a passenger on the motorcycle, which was heading towards the airport, when the 19-year-old driver lost control of the steering wheel and hit one of the four protective bars of a diesel pump.

The blow was so strong that the victim suffered serious injuries and was revived for around 20 minutes by the Fire Department, but did not survive. According to a pharmacy attendant who witnessed the incident, he heard a very loud noise and when he went out to find out what had happened, he found the passenger injured with a lot of blood in the stomach area.
“The motorcycle rider took off his shirt and tried to stop his bleeding,” he said. Still according to witnesses, everything indicates that the driver lost control of the steering after one of the tires burst. He took a breathalyzer test, a procedure adopted every time a fatal accident occurs, and the result was negative.
