José Mourinho took to social media to leave a farewell message to Marouane Fellaini, a 36-year-old footballer who will end his career at the end of this season. The Portuguese coach congratulated the Belgian on his journey, showing special appreciation for a player who he considers has always “given everything he could give” to fight for the coach’s interests on the field.
“I won’t forget who gave me everything he could give. You were and will always be one of mine. Congratulations on your career and rest those ankles that suffered a lot”, can be read in the message in question.

The Belgian international has always admired the Portuguese’s work ethic and leadership. Remember that, in 2019, in an interview with ‘Gazzetta dello Sport’, the midfielder recalled what it was like to work with Mourinho. “For me he is a great man, I like his personality, he is tough but generous. In football it is normal for there to be ups and downs in the relationship between the coach and the player”, he said at the time.
