What happened in the family home in Milly-la-Forêt (Essonne)? Two days after the tragedy, a scenario finally seemed to emerge for the investigators of the research section of the Paris gendarmerie. This Friday, after more than 24 hours in police custody, the father and his friend were finally released.
During the night from Wednesday to Thursday, they were arrested at Fontainebleau hospital (Seine-et-Marne). A few minutes earlier, the father had brought his daughter, a three-month-old infant, to the emergency room when she had a gunshot wound to the chest. The man, a municipal councilor in Milly-la-Forêt, explained that he had to return to the family home to find his wife, who was probably injured.
The latter was finally found about two kilometers from the home, near the town’s equestrian center. When she was discovered, she had two gunshot wounds to her chest. She was apparently conscious but unable to speak. She was immediately transported to Fontainebleau hospital. Investigators seized a 22 long rifle from the family home which could correspond to the injuries of the two victims.

Minutes after being admitted to hospital, the three-month-old baby finally died from his injuries. In the process, a judicial investigation was opened for “murder of a minor under 15 years of age” and “attempted murder by spouse” by the Évry public prosecutor’s office. Ultimately, a completely different scenario emerges. The mother was in turn taken into police custody for the murder of her child. “She was able to be heard this Thursday,” explains Grégoire Dulin, public prosecutor for the Évry district, “during a very brief hearing where, in the presence of her lawyer, she made use of her right to silence. »
In view of his state of mental health, “a measure of psychiatric care was taken by decision of the State representative”. A judicial investigation has also been opened to determine the exact circumstances of this tragedy. For its part, the Évry public prosecutor’s office requested the indictment of the thirty-year-old for “murder of a minor under the age of fifteen”.
