The International Guitar Festival-City of Mottola turns 30. A prestigious milestone for the event that made the small Apulian village famous by hosting, in three decades of life, the most important guitarists in the world in the classical field. We talk about the likes of Leo Brouwer, Roland Dyens, David Russell, Sérgio and Odair Assad, Celso Machado, John Duarte. The 2022 edition will take place from 1 to 10 July, in Mottola, in the province of Taranto. It begins tonight 1 July with a “green” concert already sold out in a straw theater set up for the occasion: protagonists are the Tamburellisti di Torrepaduli, who will set the Mottolese rock scenery on fire with the inaugural concert of the Festival.

A one-of-a-kind festival, which can always count on national exclusives, masterclasses, competitions for young people, violin making shows, traveling concerts in the historic center of the city, fully identified in its artistic director, Michele Libraro, appreciated guitarist and music teacher, which gave birth to it back in 1992. “It was June 28th thirty years ago – recalls Libraro – when this journey, called Festival, began its journey. I would never have imagined such a goal. In the sector it is truly known in all over the world and I am very excited to have conceived and carried it out all this time. With many sacrifices, but always with the desire to give the public something unique “.

From tomorrow, 2 July, all the most anticipated events will start, with the “Serenades” that will animate the medieval historic center of the Apulian town, recalling a unique atmosphere, the symbol par excellence of the guitar and intimacy.
