Nai Shekhar Returns: Screen Review | Naai sekar returns movie review

by time news

Naisekar (Vadivelu), India’s first ‘Dog Kidnapper’, makes a career out of stealing expensive dogs and extorting money from their owners. At one point, they search for Shekhar to kidnap Dada Das’s (Anandaraj) dog. Meanwhile, Patti (Sachu) tells Shekhar a flashback where the servant stole the lucky dog from their house. The kidnapped servant (Ravramesh) tells us that the family was wealthy after the dog arrived and became poor after it left, living as a millionaire in Hyderabad. The film is about whether Shekhar, who kidnaps other dogs for money, rescues his own dog or not.

Although Vadivelu has not acted for a few years now, his comedy memes are doing the rounds on social media. Besides, the comedies of ‘Thalayanagaram’ and ‘Marudamalai’ released in Vadivelu and Suraj combination, have been giving a lot of laughs till now, so this film is also highly anticipated. If you go to the theater with old thoughts, ‘Comedy will come now, where will Inda go without appearing in the next scene?’ That makes every scene go by as a disappointment and makes it ‘tired’. Some of the scenes in the second half of the film are laughable because of the cute pranks by Anandraj and co.

While the story suits Vadivel beautifully, the weak screenplay doesn’t make any impact. The fact that Vadivelu can be enjoyed in some places, such as kidnapping a dog and threatening him in various ways, pretending to be blind to kidnap a lucky dog, but not even being able to laugh at medicine, gives a sense of disappointment like ‘there is no Alva in Tirunelveli’.

Punch lines like ‘Riskulam rusk ekedara sampel’ are the most enjoyable puns in Vadivelu films. There is no such punch or tinge to be mentioned in this. Redin Kingsley, Prashanth, Maran and Shivangi, who come with him, also shout and shout as much as they can. But, laughter?

Anandraj, who has been in the limelight as a comedy villain for the last few years, has ‘retired’ minions to entertain. His body language and acting are delightful. Supporting characters like Rao Ramesh, his younger sister Shivani, grandmother Sachu, policeman Munishkanth, father Velaramamurthy, servant Poochimurugan have done their assigned work.

Vignesh Vasu’s cinematography is brilliant. Selva RK’s editing is not much work. Money wasted, Leica. The benefit? Santhosh Narayanan’s background music and songs help the film sustain itself, but it is like supporting a broken branch!
