Coimbatore: The Coimbatore athlete won three gold medals in the national powerlifting competition held in Bengaluru. The 2nd national level strength training competition organized by ‘Pro League National Association’, Bangalore was held at Moment Fitness Centre, Bangalore.
Competitions were held in various weight categories ranging from 44kg to 140+ age groups for men and women including Teens, Juniors, Open and Masters. In this competition, Padmanathan, 20 Jr., who is training at ‘Mr. Beam Fitness’ Center, Botanur, Coimbatore, participated in the 125 kg category.
In the bodybuilding competition, he lifted 580 kg (bench press 135 kg, dead lift 235 kg and squat 210 kg) and won a gold; In bench press individual category, 130 kg weightlifter and a gold; In the dead lift individual category, he won three gold medals, including a gold at 240 kg, and got an opportunity to participate in an international strengthening competition.
