New Delhi: Indian javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra has set a new national record. Neeraj threw 89.30 meters at the Pao Noormi Games in Finland. Neeraj won silver in the competition.
In March last year, Neeraj broke the record of 88.07 meters set in Patiala. Neeraj Chopra won gold at the Tokyo Olympics with a throw of 87.58 meters. This is Neeraj Chopra’s first appearance in gold after winning gold at the Tokyo Olympics.
Neeraj faced tough competition at the Pao Noormi Games. World champion Anderson Peters, Takyo silver medalist Jacob Jacob, Germans Julian Webber and Andreas Hoffman also took part in the Games.
