On the occasion of Good Deeds Week, Netanya students volunteered for a variety of projects for the community. The projects took place in educational institutions, organizations and throughout the city. Among the many projects, the students participated in cleaning beaches and nature reserves, worked for people and children with disabilities, participated in painting and renovation, and even in beauty treatments for the residents of the neighborhoods.

A beautiful and proclaimed project was by the choir students at Naomi Shemer School. Accompanied by Naor the music teacher, student council representatives Yahli and Yael Mo. 1, chairman of the parents’ committee Meir Friedman and Aliza educator V. 2 went out to make the Holocaust survivors happy as part of the “Good Deeds Day”.

The students and the educational staff arrived at the club with their hands full of goodies for the club members and a personal gift for Passover to each of the survivors. The gifts distributed are donations collected by the teaching staff and parents of the school.

The students of the choir performed a song in front of the survivors and sang a song with them in public. School staff and students celebrated five birthday survivors. Each of them received a personal blessing and a personal gift from the children.

One of the survivors said: “What lovely children were today, the salt of the earth. How much we enjoyed them and also the lovely teacher and father Meir Friedman. Bless you for all your deeds, you made people happy, and it’s all worth it.”
