Awami League Joint General Secretary and Dhaka-8 Constituency MP AFM Bahauddin Nashim said that the anti-independence forces are still trying to make the country a communal state. They speak against our great liberation war friend and neighbor India. They want to destroy the interests of the people of Bangladesh by destroying the friendship with our neighboring countries for political interests. India opposition is the new version of BNP-Jamaat’s apolitical politics to increase the suffering of the people of the country. They are opposing the interests of the people of the country by increasing the prices of goods in the name of boycotting Indian products.
He said these things in the chief guest’s speech at the discussion meeting organized by Bangladesh Awami Volunteer League on the occasion of Independence and National Day of the Institution of Diploma Engineers in the capital on Thursday (March 28) afternoon.
He said, we import our daily products from all over the world. This is a normal activity. Where commodity prices are low, traders will import from places where import costs are low. It is accepted all over the world. On the contrary, BNP is trying to increase the price of our goods during the holy month of Ramadan. They are doing these activities to provoke dishonest traders. They speak against the interests of our people in the name of banning imports from neighboring countries that will reduce our costs. They want to gain political advantage by increasing the suffering of people.
Nashim said, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman tried to protect the spirit of our freedom and liberation war with the last drop of his life. Our beloved leader Sheikh Hasina has fought for 21 years to protect that freedom. We fought under his leadership to protect the spirit of democracy and liberation war. The number of lives lost in this struggle cannot be counted. Even if we can save our democracy, we still have to struggle to protect the spirit of our freedom and liberation war.
He said that those who shot and killed the people of our country like birds in the Great War of Liberation, the successors of those killers are still committing crimes and misdeeds against the country and 170 million people of Bangladesh to fulfill their interests at every moment in every field of Bangladesh. Their only aim is to destroy the path forward of golden Bangladesh, the dream of the father of the nation. We have to resist all the evil forces against our freedom and move the country forward under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina.
