Composer and pianist Nito Figueras from Salta claims its origins with Home of Salt, his first album with his own songs since 2005. After debuting with living now and publish options (2007), where he covers emblematic themes of Catalan rock with his style, i Roots (2010), a collection with new versions of the compositions that have influenced him the most, Figueras undertakes a new musical project named Nito Figueras Project, accompanied by David Simó on drums and Jordi Franco on electric bass, with an album based on his Saltencan roots that presents on Saturday March 2 in Salt.

The trio debuts with a repertoire of eclectic instrumental music, with doses of rock, soul, funky and smooth jazz. In total, a dozen compositions that, for the pianist, show his maturity as a composer. “They project what I really like, the kind of music that motivates me to produce,” says the performer, who will debut Home of Salt at Teatre de Salt in a performance that promises it will boost the energy that runs through the entire disc.

It will be a “special” concert, he explains, because he will present at home a work entirely linked to Salt, “built on the basis of very intimate and personal memories and experiences, but with which everyone can connect”.

The Saltenc highlights his two traveling companions, who, in addition to their musical prowess, have brought him “wisdom” and “sentiment”: David Simó, drums and drummer long-term with collaborations with artists such as David Bisbal or Orquesta Mondragón and Jordi Franco, bass player who has also collaborated with prominent performers such as Antonio Orozco or Manu Guix.

The album also features the collaboration of trumpeter David Pastor on one of the tracks.
