President Daniel Noboa provided more information about the labor collaboration pact with Israel, which aims to offer employment to 25,000 young people in Ecuador. This announcement was made during his official visit to Canada, where he focuses on promoting investments in the mining sector.

During a meeting with young Ecuadorians and businessmen residing in Canada, Noboa explained that the 25,000 jobs offered by Israel to Ecuadorians are linked to agricultural technology. The president pointed out that these jobs are mainly aimed at young people who reside in areas with “very high violence,” such as Manabí, Los Ríos, Esmeraldas and the rural area of Guayas.

Noboa also highlighted that these jobs will be temporary. In previous days, Ecuadorian Foreign Minister Gabriela Sommerfeld had mentioned that Ecuadorian workers could receive a monthly salary of USD 1,800 under this agreement with Israel. Sommerfeld clarified that these are temporary jobs with durations ranging from six months to five years, after which the workers will return to Ecuador.

It was reported that the Foreign Ministry is finalizing the logistical details of the agreement between the two countries.
