North Gas women achieve their first victory in the Arab Club Games

The President of the North Gas Club, Raya Jalal, confirmed that the club aspires, through its participation in the Arab Club Games for Women, which is being held in Sharjah, UAE, to provide good levels in order to raise the reputation of Iraqi basketball.

The president of the North Gas Club, Raya Jalal, told the (INA) that, “Our Al-Salwa women’s team was able to win against the home team and the fans, the UAE team Sharjah, with a score of (82 – 73) points after four matches in the tournament.”
He added, “The team played a wonderful and exciting match during which our players performed at a distinguished level that enabled them to win against the hospitable team and the audience, stressing that the Arab Championship is an opportunity to improve the reality of women’s sports in the Arab region.”
He explained, “The advantage in the match went to the women of our club, and it resulted in progress in all rounds of the match, stressing that this is the first participation of Al-Shamal Gas in external competitions, to be a good sign in the development of women’s sports in Iraq.”
It is noteworthy that the North Gas team had suffered losses in four previous matches against the Jordanian Al-Fuheis with a score of (82-41) points, the Bahraini Al-Ahly Club with a score of (88-83) points, the Saudi Capital Club with a score of (79-65) points, and the Syrian Al-Thawra Club with a score of (79-65) points. (77-58) points.
