After the uproar following the publication in the latest news over the weekend of lists published by Noam of LGBT people in the media, now comes another scandal, following the publication of “leftist lists” in various bodies, including the Ministry of Justice.

A party document with the title was published on the Ynet website “The takeover of the Ministry of Justice by far-left organizations”. It is a long document, which contains the names of dozens of well-known senior officials in the legal system, and in addition to that, past and present state officials.

In addition to them, there are names of academics, lecturers, organizations and individuals who are employees of the office or were employees of the office in the past. All those mentioned in the document underwent further training in bodies that the party defines as “Deep State, shadow rule of the extreme left.”

The document was written at the end of 2019, but according to the details of the document it was updated, changed or uploaded to the website in June 2022.A list is on the party’s website servers – but is not accessible to the general public from the website.

Normative training organizations

Among other things, the report refers to organizations that the Ministry of Justice refers to as normative training programs, including “Maoz” program for leadership training as a problematic entity. The party claims that “the statehood that the institute encourages is interpreted as diversity and integration of Arabs in significant centers.”

The document even claims that Yair Shachal, the former secretary general of the Bnei Akiva movement, is a “change agent”, due to the fact that he graduated from the Ma’oz program. The party cites quotes from him, in which he says that he invited an Arab writer to speak to the movement’s annual conference.

Cooperation with reformers

Another state body that is marked prominently in the document is the unit for coordinating the fight against racism of the Ministry of Justice. The unit was established following a protest by Ethiopians in 2015. Its stated role is “preventing and eradicating institutional racism – in government offices and public institutions – on the basis of skin color, origin, nationality, religion and towards all groups in Israel.” But in the Noam party, the fact that the lawyer who heads the unit, Awka (Kubi) Zena, is a graduate of the “Maoz” program is being celebrated.

The party accuses the body of cooperating closely with Reform Jews, or of its people conducting workshops at conferences that were initiated by civil society organizations that Noam’s party identifies (such as the new foundation, the Avraham Initiatives Foundation).

The Noam party said in response that “it comes to curse and we find it to bless. Many thanks to Yedioth Ahronoth for ‘revealing’ another document from our training archive and helping to promote transparency regarding the worrisome mind engineering among the senior officials of the Ministry of Justice. You are invited to read the full document, and to know why we choose the right and accept the rule of A legal system that is all left.
