Novak Djokovic has made history. The tennis player won the Roland-Garros tournament on Sunday June 11 for the third time in his career. Djokovic thus becomes the most successful Grand Slam player for men. And the Serb holds many other records.

Novak Djokovic has won the Australian Open ten times, Roland-Garros three times, Wimbledon seven times and the US Open three times. With these 23 titles, he becomes the first player, among men, to win as many Grand Slam tournaments ahead of the Spaniard Rafael Nadal (22 titles) and the Swiss Roger Federer (20 titles).
Men and women alike, the Serb is tied with the American Serena Williams. Both, however, remain ahead of Australian Margaret Court, who holds the absolute record with 24 coronations between 1959 and 1975.
► 388 weeks world number one
With this new victory at Roland-Garros, Novak Djokovic regains his place as world number one. He thus begins his 388e week at the top of the planetary hierarchy, a record.
In total, Novak Djokovic finished seven times the year as world number one. He is ahead, once again, of Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal, who have finished in the lead five times.
► 36 years and 20 days at Roland-Garros
When he won on Sunday, Novak Djokovic was 36 years and 20 days old. He became the oldest man to win the Parisian Grand Slam. He takes the record by a few days from Rafael Nadal, who won last year at 36 years and 2 days.
The oldest player to win a Grand Slam title is Australian Ken Rosewall. He was 37 years and 2 months old when he won the Australian Open in 1972.
► 34 Grand Slam finals played
With 34 Grand Slam finals played, Novak Djokovic is ahead of Roger Federer (31) and Rafael Nadal (30).
That’s as much as Chris Evert in women’s play, but better than Serena Williams (33).
► 38 titles in Masters 1000
The Serb has won 38 titles in Masters 1000, the second level of the most important tournaments on the circuit, after those of the Grand Slam. He is also the only player to have won all nine tournaments in this category, and several times.
