“This drop may be the first indication that the number of cases in Europe is declining,” said the WHO, noting that the trend has yet to be confirmed. The numbers are increasing in North and South America.

Worldwide, 5,907 new cases have been reported, up from 7,477 in the previous week. Since the beginning of this year, a total of 41,600 infections and 12 deaths have been reported from 96 countries.
