Shining a Light on Underrepresented Victims

The network announced today that Octavia SpencerS Orit Entertainment, October Films, and ID have collaborated once again for Lost Women of Alaska, a three-hour premiere focusing on the murders of two Alaska Native women and the investigation that brought their killer to justice. According to a statement from Spencer, expanding the “Lost Women” franchise is crucial for highlighting cases involving underrepresented women and confronting systemic failures that contribute to violence against Indigenous communities.

“Expanding the LOST WOMEN franchise allows us to shine a light on cases involving underrepresented women, and LOST WOMEN OF ALASKA confronts the devastating intersection of race and systemic failures that perpetuate violence against Indigenous women,” Spencer said. “Alongside this, FEDS gives us the chance to showcase the courage of FBI agents who often work covertly to bring justice for the victims.”
