▸ Successful events in Patras-Ioannina, internal procedures in the Base Organizations
On the final straight to 5The conference, which will take place in Athens from March 1-3, the NARP for Communist Liberation is entering. The 5The Conference is held under the motto “We are taking the next step! For a political project of new communist hope and revolutionary perspective” and is particularly important for the course of the NAP, as the proposal of the Political Committee for a contribution to the establishment of a new revolutionary communist organization is put up for discussion and decision. Since the holiday period, rounds of meetings of the Base Organizations of the NAP and the Youth Communist Liberation have been held, which conclude in the following days with the voting of the Positions of the PE and the election of delegates for the conference. At the same time, a significant economic boom is underway, as well as an opening of the debate with the world of the Left and the labor movement. Last Saturday, February 10, two successful events were held in Patras and Ioannina respectively.
In Patras, in the hall of the TEE, there was an event, with the special participation of fighters/women of the student movement, with speakers Artemis Efthymiou and Iota Ioannidou. From the speakers, the effort of NAR and NKA was developed, to face the questions of the workers, the youth and all the oppressed, who emerge from a lifeless life in a capitalism in all-round crisis. But also in the face of answers, with a governmental, managerial character or logic of “escape”, which constantly fail, since they ultimately refuse to aim at the heart of the monster. The discussion was connected to the great student movement of our days but also to more general questions.
The NARP, it was emphasized, attempts to contribute to the formation of perception and mass line, with which stream, which program and which party we can open the way for another liberated socialist-communist society. But how can the world think with this horizon today? And what elements describe the transitional society after the revolution? To what extent is the description of NAP’s inadequacies linked to a specific design to make the intersection with itself?
In Ioannina, in the event hall of the Region, Antonis Draganigos highlighted the timeliness of the communist proposal in the face of the impasses and the destructive course of capitalism. The Theses’ assessment is that the world is facing a historic turning point, marked by deadlocked economic stagnation and the coming new austerity of the EU Stability Pact, the aggravation of imperialist rivalries and wars, the environmental crisis and climate change and the parliamentary totalitarianism.
“In these conditions, the question of the communist response, based on social ownership and workers’ power, for the NAP is not an ideological issue, but enters the agenda of the class struggle. The direct anti-capitalist program of struggle and concentration of forces is inspired by this communist solution, at a time when, contrary to the exhortations to “unite at a minimum”, tactics and strategy are getting closer. To fight in this direction, a vanguard is needed and first of all a party of communist liberation”, stressed A. Draganigos. The NAP has made a great contribution with its positions and action, with the intersection it made with the left and its uncompromising contribution to the struggles, but the underestimation of its own organization, the downgrading of the strategic and independent character of its intervention, led to limits he tries to exceed with 5The his conference, the march for the program and party of communist liberation.
After the end of the presentation, a rich discussion followed. A number of questions and positions were asked, regarding the NAR’s perception of socialism-communism, its assessment of the former “socialist countries” and their role and in general and during the anti-fascist struggle, its political proposal today, the causes of retreat and the defeat of the anti-memorial current of 2010-2015, the immediate political goals and their relationship with the strategy, etc. On Sunday, February 10, a conference was held by the organization of the Epirus region-
