In today’s session, the government made changes in the draft decision “On establishing the state non-commercial organization “Office for the introduction of cash register machines”. The project was presented by Davit Ananyan, Chairman of the State Revenue Committee.

He noted that although the first batches of cash registers are ready to be imported at the end of November and beginning of December, there is a technical problem that these cash registers must necessarily have post-terminals.

“It takes a long time to work with banks, and we suggest that if the other technical requirements are met, the post-terminal function will be implemented within half a year, thus we will make it possible to import cash registers,” said Davit Ananyan.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan also said that the issue of liberalizing the import market of cash registers was discussed for many years and when it was liberalized, a deficit of cash registers appeared.

The Prime Minister asked what is the reason for the increase in the demand for cash registers.

“It is due to several circumstances. First of all, it is due to the force of the legal act, secondly, as a result of registration and registration of new entrepreneurs, and thirdly, as a result of bringing them out of the shadows, the demand has increased,” said the SRC president.

He mentioned that the existing companies, as a result of expanding the spheres of circulation, needed to acquire new cash registers.

Nikol Pashinyan said, in the end, they should set a strategic goal of reducing and then eliminating cash circulation, which is also important in the fight against corruption.

He noticed that bank cards are losing their relevance and the trend of linking bank accounts to mobile phones is spreading.

“Recently, I was told a story: there are countries in the world where beggars do not have cash circulation and they have a matching device and passers-by who want to give money to a beggar do it with a mobile phone. I mean, where has the world come to? “We should set a problem not to provide electronic service to beggars, our problem should be that there are no beggars in Armenia, but the circulation of cash should not only be reduced, but also eliminated,” said the Prime Minister.
