Over 500 socialists from all over the country founded the “Buzludzha” movement in the BSP. The new structure in the party has set two general goals and 5 tasks, on which it starts working immediately. This happened during today’s meeting, which was organized by the leader of the BSP – Sofia Ivan Takov and by metropolitan socialists on the topic “For the future of the BSP and the left”. Hall 6 of the NDK turned out to be too small to gather those wishing to attend the conversation from all over the country. Among them were socialists from Ruse, Burgas, Sofia, Pomorie, Pleven, Gabrovo, Veliko Tarnovo, Sliven, Shumen, Vidin, Montana, Sofia Region, Haskovo, Pazardzhik, Blagoevgrad, Silistra, Plovdiv, Kyustendil and others.

As “24 Chasa” wrote, the president in the period 2002-2012 Georgi Parvanov, Sergey Stanishev, Vanya Grigorova, Kaloyan Pargov, Kiril Dobrev, Maya Manolova, Petar Mutafchiev, Georgi Pirinski, Georgi Bozhinov, the mayor of Dryanovo Trifon Panchev, former people’s representatives, party leaders and members from all over the country. The former chairman of the BSP, Mikhail Mikov, was unable to attend in person, but sent a letter of support to Ivan Takov.

The meeting began with a minute’s silence in memory of the victims of the terrorist act in the Russian capital, Moscow, and of Vice President Angel Marin, who died on March 18.

Our belief that the left can and should be revived – this brought us together in our new movement “Buzludzha”. After this conversation, today I want to highlight two of our general goals – the revival of the BSP and the building of a strong united left. I am glad that they were mentioned in most of the speeches,” said Ivan Takov, who headed the new movement in BSP “Buzludzha”.

The first urgent task is to convene a meeting of the BSP Congress as soon as possible and return to the statutory norms. The second is that after elections are held, the BSP will have a new leadership with a program clearly outlined and approved by the members for constructive actions to restore the dialogue within the party. The third is to take concrete steps to unify left-wing individuals and left-wing organizations in the country, enjoying high public trust and authority. The fourth task is to involve the local structures again in the selection and approval of the comrades who will represent the BSP in elected positions. Our fifth task is to be active in organizational activities in the preparation of the upcoming elections.
