Kozhikode: Prominent businessman and founding vice chairman of Malabar Gold and Diamonds PA Ibrahim Haji (78) passed away here today. He died at Kozhikode MIMS Hospital. Ibrahim Haji, who was admitted to Dubai Health Care City following a stroke, was shifted to Kozhikode MIMS on Monday.

Ibrahim Haji, co-founder and vice chairman of Indus Motors, has also held the position of Chairman, Century Tours and Travel Chairman. He is also the director of Chandrika, the front page of the Muslim League.

Ibrahim Haji was born on September 6, 1943 in Pallikara, Kasargod, the son of Abdullah Haji and Ayesha and emigrated to the Gulf in 1966. He later built the industry in the textile, jewelery and garment sectors. He entered the education sector in 1999 through the Pace Group.

The Pace Group has grown into a large group of thousands of teachers and staff. About 20,000 students from 25 countries study here. Pace Group has operations in India, UAE and Kuwait. In Kerala, Kannur Rims International School and Manjeri Pace Residential School are educational institutions owned by Ibrahim Haji. There are five institutions in Mangalore. Muslim League, K. M. C. C was active in the field of activity.
