According to the AEB, in November 2021, the drop in new car sales was 20.4% – that is, by 32 114 units compared to November 2020. Then sales amounted to 125,466 vehicles. In October of the previous year, the automotive market decreased by 18.1% or by 27,960 units compared to October 2020, when 126,204 cars were sold during the year.

Earlier, the Ministry of Trade and Industry reported that in 2021 the Russian car market grew by 6%. Sales reached 1.8 million units, according to the ministry. Automotive production in the country increased by 10% to 1.5 million cars, in part due to the effect of the low base of the lockdown in 2020.
