Pianist Moisés P. Sánchez will be the resident artist at the Ateneo de Banyoles

The pianist and composer Moisés P. Sánchez will be the resident artist of the Ateneo-Centre Municipal d’Estudis Musicales de bathrooms this year. Sánchez, one of the references in the jazz music scene of the State, will offer three concerts in the capital of Pla de l’Estany during 2023 and will participate in meetings with students of the Municipal School of Music.

The musician from Madrid assures that the residency will be “a great opportunity to connect artists and the work that is done from Madrid and Catalonia”.

The artistic residence of Moisés P. Sánchez will open on Saturday, February 18 with the presentation of Bach (re)inventions, where the pianist recreates JS Bach’s fifteen piano inventions and transfers them to his language, performed in trio format. It is an experiment in trio format where he will perform together with the double bass player Pablo Martín Caminero and the drummer and percussionist Pablo Martín Jones, where they manage to build a fascinating journey through the world of Bach. The album was awarded last year as best jazz album in the MIN Independent Music Awards.
