PP-DB will propose to GERB that they propose a candidate for Prime Minister who will use the mandate of the second political force to form a government. The formation will take the mandate to form a government from Rumen Radev and try to fulfill it.

This was discussed at a meeting of the PP-DB parliamentary group this evening, “24 Chasa” learned from two sources in the coalition. The decision is to be approved by the political bodies of “We continue the change”, DSB and “Yes, Bulgaria” and should be announced on Tuesday morning, as PP co-chairman Kiril Petkov explained before the meeting.

It was even discussed whether to directly request that the candidate for prime minister be once again Maria Gabriel, who refused to form a government together with the PP-DB after the two weeks of disputes. However, Asen Vassilev has spoken against her. Therefore, the final wording was that GERB should propose a mutually acceptable candidate for prime minister. As such, it could be, for example, the current head of the parliament, Rosen Zhelyazkov.

However, no names have been discussed, according to a third source from the group. And the offer would have been for GERB to nominate a candidate for Prime Minister themselves without being limited by preliminary names. Most likely, the party bodies of PP, DSB and DB will approve a proposal in which there is no candidate acceptable to them, and the position will be open for a proposal from GERB.

In early elections for the National Assembly, PP-DB will gather around 18-19% support, according to surveys.

If it did come to early parliamentary elections, PP-DB would prefer them to be two in one. According to the analysis of the coalition, the separation of the early vote from the European vote according to the scheme of electing new deputies on June 2, and the European Parliament on June 9, serves only the DPS.

In front of their deputies, the leaders of the PP-DB admitted that they were ready to give up the investigation secret for parliamentary commissions of inquiry, such as the one about the murder of Martin Bojanov-Notarius. It was this topic that was the most controversial during the negotiations for a political agreement with GERB in the first mandate.
